| Palau Rental Shack Report Mar/2006 |
This time, it has been operated from Palau
new rental shack. It seems that there was a plan in this rental shack from
about last ( 2005 year. ) spring. Then, it had pre-opening about last
summer. Though it let me use on that occasion a little, Only two
antennas to 14 - 28MHz was stood on one roof tower at that time. One
more roof tower is built after that, and the system of two towers are completed.
At present, two operators can operate it at the same time.
West Plaza by the Sea Hotel with Palau new rental shack.
The antennas of the roof does not look almost.
The antennas are built so that it may not see and be conspicuous from the
road.
Two set of TS-570S and one set of HL-1Kfx 500W
linear amplifier are prepared. And two set of SW power supplies of
30A are prepared. It can be simultaneously operation enjoyed by two
persons.
Since I was alone, only one power supply is used.
Two set of TS-570S were combined with HL-1Kfx.
It was 50.110MHz always heard by one set of TS-570S.
The desk is solid and there is no problem on operation.
This is an antenna switch. A rotor cable and an antenna
switch are the completion of an setup only at inserting
the upper connector ! It excels and is a thing.
It did not open 6m this time.
6m can always be heard in this state.
There are two towers of the rental shack One
is the stack of 2ele HB9CV of 18/24MHz, and 3ele Yagi of 14/21/28MHz on
the roof of the fourth floor. Another is the mini Christmas tree
of DP of 3.5/7MHz, Loop of 10MHz, 5ele Yagi of 6m, and 2ele HB9CV
of 14/21/28MHz on the roof of the third floor.
The top is 2ele which are 18/24MHz. The bottom is 3ele
which are 14/21/28MHz. Preeminent for the ground quantity
of antennas, and the location. I think that it was flying well.
There are DP of 3.5/7MHz, Loop of 10MHz, 5ele Yagi of 6m, and 2ele
HB9CV of 14/21/28MHz. Since those antennas are pulling the wire
antennas, it cannot be rotated. The fixed beams in JA and Eu
direction.
6m can always be heard, operating by 14-28MHz
daytime, if you use by one person. Two towers are fully separated.
Operation of 14-28MHz does not interfere on 6m. I also boiled
the combination of other antennas once and tried it Simultaneous
operation by two persons could be performed satisfactory.
As a restrictions matter, this hotel cannot
build in principle the antenna which you brought. Since it does not
come out to the roof, it is impossible to build the antenna without notice.
Moreover, since the yard is not located in this hotel, it is impossible
to build the antenna from the ground. It will not be necessary to
build especially the antennas, since this hotel is resembled once and there
are the antennas of 3.5-50MHz. It is the highest category in
location. It is full opening without an obstacle in W, JA, and Eu
direction.
Please keep in mind that it cannot use 200V
when you bring linear amplifier. Moreover, it can be used only HF:
1kW / 6m: 100W by the input-proof of the antenna switch system.
The room is only one double bed.
However, one extra bed can be put in.
Operation of 3.8/7MHz
It writes that I was worrisome. In 3.5/3.8/7MHz,
S7-9 place noise sometimes occurs by the width of 10-20kHz grade. Although
a cause is not known well, there is no method besides QSY, if involved
in this.
Operation of 6m
Although this is not understood well, an S5-7
place noise sometimes occurs. It will not be great if it thinks that
this is unavoidable when a noise occurs.
Operation of other bands
Noise which I worry did not have 10-28MHz.
It could apply satisfactory at all.
It inserted casually and talks
It is said that 3.8/7MHz diople is due to be
changed into 7MHz simple diople. It is said that this is a schedule
to the last.
Impressions
Although it was operation between three days
of substance, QSO exaggerated 1,000 QSOs/day was made to a long time also
in condition being bad. Although the rental shack of the West Plaza
by the Sea Hotel is small system, I think that high performance can be
demonstrated. To it, rental fee of the rental shack and stay expense
is fairly relatively cheap. I think that I will also use every now
and then from now on.
